Uses | 4-(trifluoromethyl) benzylamine is an organic intermediate, which can be obtained by reducing amination from trifluoromethyl benzaldehyde. There are reports that it can be used to prepare a medicament for controlling plant fungi in the field of agriculture or forestry. |
preparation | in the reactor, 15kg of distilled water, 2.50kg of sodium acetate, 2.30kg of hydroxylamine hydrochloride and 4.00kg of methanol are added. At room temperature, 5.0kg of trifluoromethylbenzaldehyde was added, and the mixture was first stirred for three ten minutes, and then 5kg of solvent was distilled under vacuum. Subsequently, 12.0kg of 80% acetic acid was added and 4.5kg of zinc was added in subsequent fractions, so that the temperature rose to 60-80°C due to heat release. Subsequently, this temperature is maintained by cooling. At the end of this reaction, 10.0kg of toluene and 15.0kg of 30% ammonia were added to remove the zinc salt. The obtained substance was stirred at 50-60°C and the aqueous phase of the underlying layer was subsequently removed. 4.00kg of 4-(trifluoromethyl) benzylamine was obtained as determined by potentiometric titrator. Yield: 79.5%. |
